Summary of the 2025 Annual Spring Meeting

The 2025 Annual Spring Meeting of the Kentucky SAR took place on March 8, 2025, at Louisville Kentucky's Sullivan University campus.
The day began with the Youth Contests. These contests include the creation of posters, brochures, writing essays, giving orations, and creating videos. There are also contests for Eagle Scouts and JROTC members. Contestants began their journey with their local SAR chapter, and having succeeded at that level were now competing at the state level. The winners from this day's event will have the honor of representing the State of Kentucky at the national level! These contestants were all quite inspiring and prepared, and will represent our state and our society very well.
After a wonderful lunch provided by Sullivan University, the Kentucky SAR Color Guard, led by Scott Giltner, posted the colors for the meeting. The compatriots present were attentive and dedicated to completing the agenda before them.
President Steve McCain expressed how proud he was to serve as the Kentucky SAR President over the last year, and passed the gavel to Patrick Wesolosky, who has now began his term as State President.
There was a wonderful awards ceremony that demonstrated how active our society is, across the whole of the state.
There were nine of the Kentucky SAR’s past state presidents. These men are featured in the photo above. Seated, Willian Gist, Kentucky Society President 1984-85, President General 1995-96.
